Party Room C, The Crossings Intercontinual Worldgating Facility, Tuesday Evening [Fandom Time]

It had taken a little bit of work, but with one of his best friends being responsible for the Crossings, Ronan had managed to not only reserve a room, but also to arrange transportation to the Crossings for all of his friends who wanted to come by -- without needing to negotiate Portalocity.

(It had cost him a pretty penny, but it wasn't like he was spending his money on much of anything else lately; even when not on errantry, wizards were popular through-out most of the universe.)

So, here Ronan was, waiting for people to show up as he arranged the last few nibbly foods on one of the side tables. It wasn't every day that a guy turned twenty, after all.


[So I completely flaked and forgot to email invites out to everyone. Oops? If you think you'd have gotten one, you probably got one; Ronan sent them out to pretty much everyone he's ever known at Fandom High.

[Up early for timezones and SP and suchlike.]

"Aw, geez, Irish," Katchoo drawled, slouching towards him. "You're gettin' old on me. Next year, I'm gettin' you a walker."

"Why is everyone calling me old?" Ronan asked. "I mean, honestly. I can't even drink legally in the States."

He paused.

"Not that this has ever stopped anyone in Fandom."

"Or most other places in the country," Katchoo added, smirking. And paused. "Or the universe, probably. Still, Irish, the big two-oh? No more bein' a teenager for you. Face it. Old-geezer-hood is right around the corner for you now."

And her, because she'd turned 20 in November, but it wasn't as if she ever remembered celebrated it, so shut up.

"Yeah, yeah, get me a cane and some Geritol." Ronan rolled his eyes, although he leaned over to bump shoulders with her. "Although hopefully not as a birthday present."

"Can't now," Katchoo answered, and nudged back. "It wouldn't be a surprise, see?"

And then the nudge turned into something almost vaguely kind of like a one-armed hug for a half second. "How've ya been?"

Ronan grinned. Widely. "Planet of the catboys," he said, simply. "Among others. I've been great."

Ronan grinned. "And how've you been?" he asked. "Things going okay at Fandom?"

"It's Fandom," Katchoo said wryly. "The usual frikkin' insanity. Did I tell you Francine and I finally got together?"

Ronan frowned, but only out of concentration. "I don't think so?" he said. "So -- congratulations! How long now?"

"God, a while now. Since Homecoming." Yeah, Katchoo was grinning. A lot. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I should write more."

"Eh," Ronan said, shrugging. "It's not like I've been doing any better. We'll both have to try harder.

"Still, though, that's kind of awesome. And by kind of, I mean totally."
