The menu finally planned, the guests on their way -- or already arrived, and dinner already cooking, Ronan felt prepared for dinner.

The smells -- and sounds -- coming out of his kitchen were probably enough to make his guests mouth water, but that was, really, par for the course when it came to Ronan. And no, you weren't allowed into the kitchen to help.

When Emma arrived, she was well-armed with bottles of good champagne and some lovely French cheeses. Yes, Ronan had said he was cooking, but she wasn't showing up without host-gifts.

"No layovers, no incorrect routes, and no lost luggage," she quipped as she came in the door. "Portalocity must be having an off day."

"In which case I suppose we should start preparing for the blizzard that's going to swoop in this evening," Isabel observed.

"Nonsense. I refuse to worry when there's food on the line," Emma quipped, waving a hand. "We can wait out whatever storm hits and still have leftovers."

"And knowing Ronan, there will be a lot of them. It would definitely not be a bad way to spend a weekend," she laughed before gesturing at Emma was carrying. "Do you need any help with that?"

Of course the last time Isabel had seen Emma, she'd been carrying Jack, so more then likely she was capable of carrying some wine bottles, but Isabel's mom had raised her to be polite so she offered.
