33 Apocalypse Ave., Thursday Morning

Waking up early, Ronan slipped out of bed -- being careful not to wake the other occupants -- slipped on some pyjama pants and a t-shirt, and opened and closed the door as quietly as possible as he left the room.

Coffee first, he thought, and then he might as well get started on breakfast.

[For the housemates! Or anyone else who wants to call/drop by/whatever.]

Emma, most people start with 'hello' or other such niceties in the morning.

Oddly enough, 'coffee' seemed to be the day's greeting of choice.

In fact, Ronan wordlessly handed over a steaming, freshly-poured mug.

The speed at which she chugged it before handing the empty mug back was considered a crime in some countries. Or at least inhuman.

"Fight you for the shower next?" she asked as she reached for the pot to pour them both another cup. "I have to be at work by ten."

"All yours," Ronan assured her, taking the mug and refilling it with the last of the coffee from the press. (Don't worry, Emma, there'll be espresso momentarily.)

Hey, he had nowhere to be today.

Emma made a face and swatted at him. "Not fair," she decided. "No one else has to do a damn thing today, and I have to go all the way to Dite's."

...it was all the way around the corner from the house! Away from pillows and naps and things!

Ronan ducked out of way, being careful not to spill the coffee before handing it back to Emma.

Fully expecting her to drain this one just as quickly, yes.

"What hardship," he teased. "I was thinking I might do some planning for my next class, actually."

"Oh? What did they sucker you into teaching this semester?" she asked, reclaiming her drink. "Maths?"

"Actually, I'm doing a life skills class," Ronan explained. "On travelling. But maybe I'll do maths next semester."

Home ec might be more likely; it's not like he didn't know food.
