Room 507, Monday Evening

It had been a good day; nothing too exciting, really, although class had been interesting, and flirting with Tony was always fun. So, yes, a good day, and Ronan was enjoying the last of it right by his window, open to the cold air as he smoked. It was getting to be far too much of a habit for him, he told himself, but he wasn't exactly doing anything about it.

The door was open, although just a little, in an effort to help most of the smoke go out the window instead of out into the hallway. It was even mostly working.

"Yeah, the wrong idea being the squirt somehow needs to *protect* me," Carmela says with a snort.

Ronan snerked. "Well, yes," he said. "Whatever did you think I meant?

"So," he continued, "how's the Sagittarius Arm treating you? Other than planet Bob."

"It's not bad," Carmela's grin is probably audible. "Actually, it's kind of great. Did you know there's such thing as a 'party planet'? And they threw a New Year's party for me! Even though I'm pretty sure we were actually in the middle of their year. Filif even showed up. It was awesome."

Ronan laughed again. "Why am I not surprised that you managed to convince an entire planet to throw you a party for a holiday they don't celebrate?" he asked. "And how is our favorite foliage?"

"Because you know me?" Carmela points out. Modest she is not. "And he was looking *especially* adorable. Apparently Nita and Dairine took him, uh. Christmas shopping."

"I'm almost afraid to ask," Ronan said. "But I think I have to. What did they end up getting for him?"

"Oh, you know. Little blinking lights. LED, of course. More energy efficient. And some very sparkly ornaments. And of course, his baseball cap."

"He's still wearing that? That's awesome." Ronan couldn't help but laugh. "Sounds like you're having a grand time. Any plans to swing by Earth any time soon? I'd love to see you, maybe catch up over some tea."

"Ohhh, I think I could be convinced," Carmela says thoughtfully. "Especially since I've run out of chocolate. I'm gonna need to stock up."

"I'm partial to Valrhona?" Carmela says. "But it seems that *some* folks out here have developed a taste for Hersheys. Don't ask how, *I* certainly didn't encourage it."

Ronan shuddered. "Seriously?" he said. "Ugh. No, I'll get the Valrhona. How much?"

"Enough to last another month or so?" Carmela says. "I've got money. Sort of. I can pay you back."
