The menu finally planned, the guests on their way -- or already arrived, and dinner already cooking, Ronan felt prepared for dinner.

The smells -- and sounds -- coming out of his kitchen were probably enough to make his guests mouth water, but that was, really, par for the course when it came to Ronan. And no, you weren't allowed into the kitchen to help.

"Don't tell me I wouldn't be good at it," Parker said, still smirking. "I've got several employees who'd say different."

"Unfortunately, Jarod would probably insist on watching. For science. That might put some clients off." She paused. "Of course, others...?"

Isabel poured two glasses of soda and handed one over to Parker, keeping one for herself. "To better thoughts that don't require brain bleach."

Parker clinked her glass with Isabel's, and asked, "So, how is the City of Sin, now that it's not missing a few casinos?"

"Sinful. Although it's been fairly quiet. That'll change over the next few weeks when all the annual meetings start happening," she answered. "I won't have a weekend off till March."

"Ugh. I'm not visiting you 'til April," Parker decided. "You can come visit me in... God, where am I next week?" She grimaced. "I do kind of need a vacation."

"You're close enough to Tahiti to jet off for a weekend," Isabel pointed out. "Make Jarod take you."

"Of course you're going to have to visit me before April. You need to help me dress shop."

"I could do that. If I can drag him away from his skulls." Parker considered, then grinned at Isabel. "What, you don't have the perfect dress already picked out and on back-order?"

Isabel ducked her head in shame. "I know. I'm falling down on the job. But I've been looking in magazines so I have ideas. But I have to see if those ideas actually work in three dimensions."

"Well, that is a point," Parker had to admit. "And it'll keep you from making me wear something awful." Like that would ever happen.

"If I have to. Which let's face it, I probably will," Parker said airily. "Or Angel, if he decides to get stupid at the last second. Or whoever follows the Halliwells to the ceremony."
