Room 507, Saturday Evening

Ronan led Bolton to his room from the gym, closing the door behind him. "Feel free to sit anywhere," he said. "I just need to find something, then I can finish healing your arm."

He who assumed himself to be 'something' Bolton had an urge to just flop down on the bed, but he was more careful than that, considering his arm. But the whole fact that it already wasn't hurting nearly as much as it had when it first happened had him oddly hopped up on adrenaline. "Okay. Thanks, by the way. I guess that was kind of an asshat thing to do, and I'd be pretty screwed if you weren't there, man."

Ronan looked over, his eyes unreadable. "Yeah, you would have. What prompted that to begin with?" He was reaching into his bag, searching for what he needed; it seemed, though, that he'd been putting more in there than he realised, and before long he was up to his shoulder as he reached down to the bottom of the claudication.

It should be noted that the bag was by no means big enough, at least from the outside, to accommodate his arm.

"It would have been really cool if it worked out?" Bolton offered, knowing it was completely lame, but then it didn't matter because that guy's (Ronan, he said his name was Ronan) hand totally couldn't really be doing that.

"...How the heck are you doing that, man?"

"What?" He looked down. "Oh, I'm a wizard," he said, by means of explanation, although then he elaborated, "The bag is claudicated -- basically, it's tied to a pinched off area of space. It makes it bigger on the inside, basically."

Bolton lifted his chin a little. "A wizard. Right. And I'm..."

Well, there was the thing, right? He didn't quite know who he was still. And, well, there was all that weird stuff he did to make the pain in his arm go away, and then the bag which was right as plain as day in front of his face, and...

He sighed. "Okay, so a wizard makes as much sense as anything else right now, I guess."

Ronan frowned slightly; surely by now any student would have accepted that Fandom was weird. "Yeah, I hope so. Since it's true, and all."

He finally found what he was looking for, pulling a sheathed knife out of his bag. "Aha!" He smiled a bit. "Just what I needed," he said.

Bolton's eyes widened a little bit as a knife was pulled out. "Come on! I know I didn't break it so bad it's got to be amputated!"

Or at least, dear God, he hoped that was the case.

Ronan blinked, hardly having expected that reaction. "... Please, you couldn't amputate a finger with this thing. It's nowhere near sharp enough to cut bone, you need a bone saw for that, really." He shrugged. "No, it's for me; I need blood for the kind of healing I'm going to need to do. It'll leave you good as new, though."

It was interesting how the thought of a bone saw made Bolton's nose wrinkle a little, but he was thinking nothing of how his arm was broken right now. Probably because it didn't hurt. Assured that he wouldn't be spending forever in agonizing pain as Ronan tried to saw through his arm with that knife, he smiled a little. "Good as new is very, very good...."

Which just got Bolton thinking...if Ronan can cure a broken arm...what about a broken memory?

"So, uh, yeah," Ronan said, lining up the healing spell in his mind. "This one'll take a little bit longer to speak through, and I'm going to need to lift the stabiliser and the pain-killer first, so... you'll be in some pain again, but then it'll all be fixed, I promise."

Sucking in a deep breath, holding it as his lips pressed together, he braced himself for the pain. He nodded a little. "O...kay. Let's do this."

Ronan nodded, and with a few words released the spells holding Bolton's arm still and keeping the pain away.

A quick slice down his palm started the blood flowing, and the words flowed with it; the healing came easily to him, more easily than he'd imagined it would, but it was almost as if something were helping him along, like it was supposed to come this easily for him.

As the spell built, Ronan smiled, and then he was at the end, reciting the last words, and it was done.

Oh, shit, that did not feel good. As the pain relief spell lifted, he tried as hard as he could not to be effected by the sudden return of what it felt like to have the bone in your arm doing what it was doing in his right now, but it was showing all over Bolton's face, in his teeth diffing into his lip as he tried to just take it. It was, after all, in retrospect, an insanely stupid thing to do and he almost deserved this pain.

So when it finally lifted, both sooner than he had thought and not soon enough all at once, he really couldn't help a small, relieved whimper. He hated that it got out, but, at the same time, he was thinking he didn't do too badly, all things considered...

"Better?" Ronan said, softly. He'd been unconscious, the last time any major healing had been done on him -- which was a good thing, as he'd also been nine-tenths dead at the time -- but he still knew what it was like to have pain, and then just have it be gone. It was as much a shock to the system as anything could be.

"Y...yeah," he responded shakily. He thought about rolling his shoulder to see how it felt but was a little nervous to, just in case it wasn't exactly really as good as new. But he did slowly start to work it as curiosity overpowered anxiety, and a weary kind of smile slipped onto his face.

"Thanks. Again. Really..."

Ronan shrugged. "Not a problem. I'm just glad I was there to help." He grinned.

He snorted a slight laugh. "You're glad? Although I'm sorry sorry anyone had to see that brilliant moment of awesomeness there, Jesus...It's just...yeah, definitely an off day..."

Possibly the most off day he'd ever had, but it wasn't like he could remember...

"An 'off day'?" Ronan said, laughing a bit. "I certainly hope that's all it was. If you show up at the clinic with another broken arm? I may force you to take a cast, instead, so you can learn your lesson." But he was grinning when he said it, and it was probably pretty obvious that he didn't mean it.

"'Off' is putting it lightly, maybe," Bolton grinned back. "And I can be cool with that, but only if you promise to sign it."

Ronan laughed a little more, while a little voice inside went, Is he flirting? I think he's flirting!

"I think I could bring myself to do that," he said. "Although I do hope that I get to see you in some other circumstances than at the clinic."

"Maybe?" Bolton asked, tilting his head slightly. He was thinking that it was true that he'd never seen this guy before in his life, and then he realized that, of course, he wouldn't think that because of the whole fact that he couldn't remember anything. He rubbed his forehead a little (with, he realized, the hand on the arm that was just healed, which was just cool). "Ugh, I take that as a pretty good indication that we haven't actually met before, then, which kind of sucks..."

Then again, Ronan had already helped him a lot as it was, so he couldn't hold it against him that he couldn't help with the freakin' memory thing...

"Yeah?" Ronan grinned. "I guess it kind of does, yeah. Would certainly have been nice to... meet you... sooner."

Yes, it was only at that moment that he realized that what he said could be seen from two different angles, and the realization thanks to Ronan's words had his face turning a little red. His hand ducked behind his head, rubbing his neck a little. "Well, I mean...that wasn't quite what I meant..." But he said with a grin like he didn't necessarily disagree.

"Oh?" Ronan was a little confused at that, but... "What do you mean?"

"Well, uh....this morning, I, uh...woke up and didn't know who I was," he admitted, nervously, as if it were all his fault or something and the other guy would hold it against him because, clearly, he was not having any such problems. "Still not sure, actually...So, I mean, if we had met before, you could...help me remember and everything..."
